POSITION: Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)
Location: Gilbert ( Clinic/ Homehealth)
Employment Type: Part-time
SUMMARY
The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) plays a vital role
in delivering high-quality speech therapy services under the
direction and supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist
(SLP). The SLPA supports individuals in the 0- 21+ age groups by
helping implement treatment plans, supporting communication
development, and promoting positive outcomes. This position is
ideal for someone passionate about patient care, teamwork, and
making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to
perform the following essential functions satisfactorily:
Administer speech therapy treatment plans developed by the
supervising SLP.
Implement therapeutic interventions to address speech, language,
voice, and fluency disorders.
Maintain appropriate documentation and progress notes in compliance
with professional standards.
Apply infection control principles and standard precautions during
patient care.
Accept clinical assignments consistent with educational background
and clinical competence.
Use effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients,
families, and care teams.
Participate in continuing education to maintain professional growth
and meet state licensing requirements.
Support compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance
standards.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or
related field.
Graduate of an accredited Speech Language Pathology Assistant
program.
A minimum of one year of experience in a clinical setting, such as
acute care or rehabilitation, is preferred.
Pediatric and/or Home Health experience preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
Current and valid Arizona State License to practice as a Speech
Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
Skills and Competencies:
Sound knowledge of speech therapy techniques and practices.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Compassionate and patient-focused with excellent interpersonal
abilities.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
environment.
Additional Requirements:
Travel as needed between client locations.
Physical demands include heavy work: lifting to 100 pounds
occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
