Electrical Technician (System Turn On/Turn Off)

Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Electrical Technician SUMMARY: Electrical Technicians are responsible for turning on and turning off electrical equipment or system installations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with electrical systems including high, medium, and low voltage such as LSS, I&C, power distribution/generation, etc.
  • Conduct electrical system walk-downs, installation verification to requirements of all drawings, P&ID's, specifications, submittals, specific system and prerequisites
  • Document any errors and corrective action required and notify the construction team via field work reporting
  • Work with and communicate effectively with subcontractors, superintendents, office staff, engineering staff, consultants, and owner's representatives to facilitate project activities
  • Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings
  • Preparation and field execution of startup checks, including responsibility for verifying that the startup documents have been fully executed and signed off
    Requirements:
    • Minimum 5+ years verifiable electrical experience (Journeyman level)
    • Five to ten years related experience in the construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience with high, low, and medium voltage- transformers, substations, switchgears etc.
    • Knowledge of relevant Codes and Standards (IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NETA, OSHA) COMPETENCIES:

          • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and respirators.
          • Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed.
